F E E D I N G

Tonight you guard me from the flashing lights

Of city streets that tempt and tease the mind

I walk and stare straight now with glossy eyes

Imagination feeds a broken heart

Remain in thoughts and they all see me grin

And I can stare straight now with open eyes

Possess my step, replace reality

I only need your face to get me home

I ache to stop my stare and shut my eyes

There then you keep me safe from certainty

As past infects my dreams you’ll slip inside

Under these sheets, I’ll hide in reverie

But now I still walk straight and live a lie

Imagination feeds a broken heart
